THE CHANGING OF THE SEASONS
Summer fades into Autumn. The heat reduces, the skies are a bit greyer, the nights are fair drawin in. That's the same for us all. Maybe I'm premature in such comments, for it's still tee shirt weather, still light into early evening. But the change in seasons is real for me nonetheless. Akthough not in the sense described so far.
The end of August is the end of Festivals season : Jazz and Blues, International, Fringe, Art, Poliics, Film, they've all been and gone. I went to shows in some and not others. But now my focus shifts less towards the arts and more towards the action. A new season means new season tickets kicking in. We've already been to 4 preseason hockey matches, as Fringe and ice mingled in August. September brought the first preseason rugby. Next stop, league competition for both, the real clashes, and real feelings of triumph and heartbreak. This isn't just entertainment now. This is passion and despair and glory and shared moments of celebration and ... going OTT a bit! This is a season stretching out to April, May... This is what comes next.
